Gastrologik at Taste of Stockholm

During the weekend of 6-9 September the festival “Taste of” came to Stockholm. Focus was on the best chefs and restaurants in Sweden. Several of the participating restaurants were Michelin starred. At the festival you could watch chefs demoing their food, attend seminars and cook alongs where you got to cook with some of the best chefs in Sweden. On friday I listened to René Redzepi of Noma who talked about fermentation and what’s going on at Noma. I also attended very interesting demos with Magnus Ek of Oaxen Krog and Kim Öhman of Farang.

You could of course eat a lot of good food at the festival. Some restaurants served snack sized dishes all three days and some opened up pop-up restaurants for just one or two lunches or dinners. In the pop-up restaurant 14 guest at the time had the opportunity to eat in front of the chefs cooking the food. On sunday I had lunch when Jacob Holmström and Anton Bjuhr of one Michelin star restaurant Gastrologik cooked in the Pop-Up.

Jacob Holmström and Anton Bjuhr opened Gastrologik two years ago. Since the opening day I have been to Gastrologik or their more casual restaurant Speceriet at least once a week. These two restaurants have become my second home. It is therefore hard for me to be totally impartial in a review. I will therefore simply post the pictures of the food. But I have to say that it was an excellent lunch and the wood sorrel sorbet (second to last dessert this lunch) is the best dessert I have had this year.
